Directions to Washington Public Library

 

From I-78, Westbound:

Take Exit 17, the North Clinton exit, onto Route 31N.  Continue north for approximately 10 miles.

At the Intersection of Route 31N and Route 57 (Washington Avenue in town), turn left onto Route 57 and proceed to the intersection of Washington and Belvidere. 

(At this intersection, Belvidere only goes north, and Broad Street only goes south.)

Turn right (north) onto Belvidere, and proceed for 5 blocks. 

Turn left onto (West) Carlton at the T intersection. 

Proceed to the Intersection of Carlton and North Lincoln.  The library is on the Northeast corner. 

The parking lot is behind the library (turn right onto North Lincoln and take the first driveway to the right).

 

 

From I-78, Eastbound:

Take the 31 North Exit 15 and follow signs on Rt. 513 through town to 31N.  Continue north for approximately 10 miles.

          At the Intersection of Route 31N and Route 57 (Washington Avenue in town), turn left onto Route 57 and proceed to the intersection of Washington and Belvidere.

Turn right (north) onto Belvidere, and proceed for 5 blocks. 

Turn left onto (West) Carlton at the T intersection. 

Proceed to the Intersection of Carlton and North Lincoln.  The library is on the Northeast corner. 

The parking lot is behind the library (turn right onto North Lincoln and take the first driveway to the right).

 

From Route 57 Eastbound:

          Follow Route 57 from Phillipsburg to the intersection of 57 and North Lincoln.

Turn north (left) onto North Lincoln and continue to the library.  There is a brief dogleg to the right at the church, but the road name remains N. Lincoln. 

Proceed to the Intersection of Carlton and North Lincoln.  The library is on the Northeast corner. 

The parking lot is behind the library (to the right).

 

From Route 57 Westbound:

Follow Route 57 from Hackettstown past the intersection with Route 31 North to the Belvidere intersection.  This will be about 12 miles.

Turn right (north) onto Belvidere, and proceed for 5 blocks. 

Turn left onto (West) Carlton at the T intersection. 

Proceed to the Intersection of Carlton and North Lincoln.  The library is on the Northeast corner. 

The parking lot is behind the library (turn right onto North Lincoln and take the first driveway to the right).

 

From Route 46:

          It is possible to come through Hackettstown on 46, turning right onto Route 517, and right again onto Route 57 Westbound, in which case, please follow the rest of the direction above.

          Coming from the Buttzville area, turn South from 46 into 31 Southbound.  You will drive through Oxford, for about 4.6 miles.

At the intersection with Jackson Valley Road, turn right.  At the intersection with Belvidere, (passed Warren Hills Regional High School) there is a 4 way stop.  Turn left (south) onto Belvidere.

Come down 4 streets and turn right onto Carlton Avenue.

Proceed to the Intersection of Carlton and North Lincoln.  The library is on the Northeast corner.
